Immunization
Students are required by the Texas Department of State Health Services to be up to date in their childhood immunizations.

A parent’s signature is required for all medications (prescription and non-prescription/over the counter) which are needed at school.

Illness
Students with a fever of 100.0 or higher will be sent home from school in order to prevent the spread of illnesses as mandated by the Texas State Health Services.

Common Illnesses, Useful Information Regarding Childhood Illnesses
Mandatory Completion of the TEA Seizure Management Form Begins January 1, 2024 Section 3 of Senate Bill (SB) 1506, 88th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, states that the change in law only applies to a seizure management and treatment plan submitted to a school district on or after January 1, 2024. Therefore, anything prior to January 1, 2024, can be on any form; however, beginning on or after January 1, 2024, information submitted must be on the form posted on the webpage provided below. The TEA Seizure Management form can be found by visiting the Healthy and Safe School Environment of the Coordinated School Health Model webpage. The Texas Education Code (TEC) §38.032(a)(1) states that the plan must be on the form adopted and posted on the agency’s Internet website used for submitting a seizure management and treatment plan.

Meeting Minutes: School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)
Date: January 15, 2026

1. Welcome & Introductions
- The meeting was called to order by Speaker 3.
- New participants from San Antonio were welcomed to the committee.
- Absences were acknowledged, including Ms. Watts (Child Nutrition Director) due to an emergent campus situation.
2. Administrative Items
- Agenda Access: Speaker 1 (Secretary) will update Google Meet settings to resolve technical issues and ensure all members have viewing permissions.
- Recording: The meeting was recorded for record-keeping purposes.
3. Wellness Policy Presentation
Christine Sanchez (Executive Director for Fiscal Compliance) presented local Wellness Policy requirements per the Texas Education Code:
- Triennial Assessment: The district is beginning its first three-year assessment; results must be shared publicly (e.g., at a School Board meeting).
- Marketing & Standards: Food and beverages sold during the school day (30 minutes before to 30 minutes after school) must meet "Smart Snack" nutritional standards.
- Records Retention: Documentation must be maintained for Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) audits.
4. Major Recommendations & Motions
The committee voted unanimously to approve the following recommendations to the Board:
- Campus Representation: Formally add "Campus Administrators" as required stakeholders in the SHAC policy.
- Wording Update: Change "School Wellness Council" to "SHAC" for consistency.
- Smart Snack Compliance: Implement stricter guidance for food-related fundraisers and celebrations. While three "Exempt Days" remain per year, birthday celebrations should generally use approved pre-packaged/low-sugar items.
5. Goal Setting & Strategies
The committee identified three pillars for the upcoming Local Wellness Plan:
- Hygiene Access: Provide discrete access to hygiene products (e.g., via counselor offices), solicit community donations, and survey parents on needed items.
- Physical Activity: Target a 2% increase in Average Daily Attendance (ADA) through health initiatives, "Parent Walking Clubs," and youth cross country.
- Communicable Disease: Re-establish sanitization protocols, provide 10-minute hygiene briefings at staff meetings, and share seasonal health tips in newsletters.
6. Open Forum: Allergy Protocols
The committee discussed anaphylactic allergy protocols. Parents are encouraged to ensure documentation is on file with the campus nurse. Schools will continue using "alert folders" and classroom signage for high-severity allergies.
7. Action Items
- Present SHAC recommendations to the School Board: Christine Sanchez (Deadline: Jan 22nd)
- Request "Administrator/Principal Manager" presence at SHAC: Ms. Fuentes / Ms. Mueller (Deadline: Before next meeting)
- Draft revised Wellness Plan based on new goals: Committee (Deadline: Feb 12th)
- Coordinate with Attendance Dept. to track health-related absences: Nurse via Ms. Sanchez (Status: Ongoing)

SHAC Committee Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 Am by Nurse Recio.
On December 4th of 2025 At the Jubilee District Office.
Agenda:
Item 1: to introduce the officers and by laws and main Objective Creating a Healthy Jubilee. Laws were approved by the committee.
Item 2: The Committee got to work on its first List of goals. The committee broke out into a 15 min session to pick 3 goals that would match the communities main objective.These three items are listed to be our main focus:
